No. All processing happens entirely in your browser using TensorFlow.js and HTML5 Canvas API. Your images never leave your device — not even for a second. This also means it can work offline after the model has loaded once.

Person AI uses TensorFlow BodyPix deep learning to detect and segment people in photos — ideal for portraits, headshots, and human subjects with complex edges like hair. Color Key mode removes a specific solid background color (like green screen, white studio background, or logo backgrounds) and works on any image type, not just people.

Switch to Color Key mode, upload your logo, then click directly on the white area of the image to automatically pick that color. Adjust the Tolerance slider to capture more or less of similar shades, then click Remove Background. Download as PNG to preserve transparency.

Input: JPG, PNG, and WEBP images up to 20MB are supported. Output: You can download results as PNG (with transparency/alpha channel), JPG (white background composited), or WEBP. You can also copy the result directly to your clipboard.

Yes. After removing the background, use the Output Background selector to choose from transparent, white, black, gradient presets (blue-purple, sunset, green, dark space), a custom solid color, a blurred version of the original, or upload your own custom background image. Use Re-apply Background to switch backgrounds without re-running AI.

The TensorFlow BodyPix model is approximately 5-8MB and loads from a CDN on first use. After it loads once, it may be cached by your browser for faster subsequent loads. During loading, Color Key mode is immediately available as a fast alternative.

Edge Feathering softens the edges of the cutout by gradually fading transparency near the boundary between subject and background. A feathering value of 0 gives sharp, hard edges. Higher values (4-8) create smoother, more natural-looking edges that blend better with custom backgrounds.
