How to Calculate Your Exact Age in Years, Months and Days
Most people know their age in years — but do you know your exact age in months, days, or even seconds? Here's how precise age calculation works and why it matters.
To calculate your exact age, subtract your date of birth from today's date. The result gives you years, remaining months, and remaining days. For example, if you were born on January 15, 1995 and today is June 5, 2026 — your exact age is 31 years, 4 months, and 21 days.
Why months and days matter: For legal documents, insurance calculations, and medical records, your age in complete years may not be precise enough. A child's vaccination schedule, for instance, is based on exact months of age.
The formula: Years = floor(days/365.25). Remaining months = floor((days % 365.25)/30.44). This tool handles all edge cases including leap years automatically.

Korean Age vs International Age — What's the Difference?
In South Korea, everyone is born at age 1 — not 0. And everyone turns a year older on January 1st, not their birthday. Here's how Korean age works.
Korean Age (세는나이): You are 1 year old at birth. Everyone ages 1 year on January 1st regardless of their actual birthday. This means a child born on December 31st would be 2 years old (Korean age) the next day.
International Age: You start at 0 and age 1 year exactly on each birthday. This is the standard used in most countries including India, USA, UK, and Europe.
Lunar Age: Used in traditional Chinese culture, based on the lunar calendar. Your age advances on Chinese New Year rather than your birthday.
